Techno & House

Techno ohne Selfie Gewichse

Sowas verbindet einfach.

—–ENGLISH—–

The Golden Gate is like the little Gallic village from the Asterix comics. In the midst of the hard gentrified Berlin Mitte, where a wave of concrete and galss eats its way more and more from the Alexa towards the Jannowitz Bridge, the small S-Bahn arch resists becoming a coffee shop and offers techno without selfie bullshit.
If the techno beat were a natural resource, the Golden Gate would be the gold mother lode. Someone once left this as a comment on Facebook and the author can only confirm this.

If you like it dirty and gloomy and you also like techno. If you like ist small, full and always open, the Golden Gate is the place to be. Wonderful sets until late noon, trashy underground atmosphere, border-crossing parallel world audience and heavily used toilets. Plus the best day in the middle of the week, Thursday and the most authentic Saturday afternoon after-hour in town. The Golden Gate is like Rosis, Lovelite, R19 and all the other great alternative clubs. The difference is…. it’s still there. It has already celebrated its 10th anniversary and one can hope that there will also be a 20th anniversary. Defiantly the Golden Gate pumps minimalism in musical form out into the world.

It’s one of the few clubs where you still have the feeling that you’re just going to dance and not that „see and be seen“ thing at the bar and on the dancefloor. The Mini Garten has unfortunately been gone over the years. But maybe one day it will even come back.
