KOKOKO! will be performing an early concert at RSO.Berlin. The collective born in Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, is a creative collision of musicians from the Ngwaka neighbourhood (Dido Oweke, Boms Bomolo, Love Lokombe, Makara Bianko) and electronic producer Débruit. Known for creating experimental, vital dance music through homemade instruments made from metal, cans, engine parts and plastic containers found in Kinshasa’s streets, Kokoko!’s distorted fast rhythms and spontaneous lo-fi electric sounds provide the chaotic soundtrack for the city’s harsh yet abundantly creative realities. Harnessing Kinshasa’s rebellious spirit of collaborative and multidisciplinary performance, Kokoko! emerges from a radical scene of artists that speak out against the exploitations of the past and the present.

Meth Math, a collaboration between vocalist Angél Ballesteros and producers error.error and Bonsai Babies, takes the digitised, synthy vocals of Ballesteros and sets them against infectiously playful hybrids of pop, neoperrero and happy hardcore as well as downtempo electronic soundscapes. Their EP m♡rtal was released in March 2022.

Opening the night is Opium Hum, who builds DJ sets with sombre, hazy drones and fantastical soundscapes permeated by deep, shifting rhythms to create what can only be called a waking dream.
