Event Details

This is a fundraiser event — part of the profit collected from performances by AIRCRAFT, Guido Möbius and DJI MATRICE 30T will be donated to the organization Musicians Defend Ukraine.

The event will take place at LOOPHOLE and start at 19 pm.

Aircraft is a one-man band that started as a side project of the Ukrainian musician Daniel Merkulov. It was founded back in 2011 in Kyiv, Ukraine. Aircraft started off with a mixture of minimal shoegaze and dream pop. Being simple but sophisticated, Aircraft’s music was created with a drum machine, guitar, and vocal only. The first Aircraft gig took place in Odessa in November 2011. The lo-fi sound is combined with gentle vocals, sometimes reminiscent of early Depeche Mode, warm and brooding guitar motifs and the classic sound of drum machines and synthesizers.

Listeners who have come in contact with the music of Guido Möbius solely through his album releases are in for surprise when they attend one of his gigs. With the help of no more than his guitar, his voice, a trumpet and loads of effect pedals, he creates highly energetic music in between humour and hypnosis. Another element that makes his performances so special is his spontaneous interaction with the audience. Möbius always invites the chance to be his accomplice. On stage Guido Möbius is surrounded by his serially connected effects units that he controls as if in a trance. This accounts for a large part of the fascination with his performances. In his live sets, Möbius creates delicate links between experimentation, handmade techno, funk, polyrhythmic patterns, acid, weird noises and gospel music. Methodically prepared passages and improvisation combine into a coherent set, and Möbius deals with the energy on the fly.

A Trio of Ukrainian activists and noise lovers, teamed up to experiment with sound and poems and create an immersive emotional journey. The trio works on the contrast of emotional and painful narratives of Jora’s poems, mixed with the plain wall of noisy ambient sound created by 2 Dimas and their synth and guitar. An unchanging part of the performance is live VJing and lack of light which fits the intuitive and improvisational nature of the performance.

The event will be finished by DJ sets of (Freier Duo) (aka Artem Ikra [Krossfingers / Kyiv] & Garcon Gaston [Obscure Obsession] which will end at 3 pm.
