Gegen Air wants to question the concrete need for breath, the lack of air, the fear of it. The pandemic has forced us to hold our breath. The supremacy has prevented us from breathing. The authorities disperse us by filling the air with tear gas. How much more do we need to struggle in order to breathe? What air is being breathed today?

Evolution teaches us that life can also exist in anaerobic conditions, that some organisms proliferate in the absence of oxygen, that mechanisms of power can take over and take advantage of toxic and polluted environments, climate crisis, capitalism, white supremacy, patriarchy, and other forms of oppression, forcing us to live and continually adapt to the external surrounding, just as happens in a suffocating relationship.

Gegen Air wants to make its way through this environments and bring you to an ecstatic asphyxiation by using air’s properties to transmit the vibrations of sound waves, the scent of sweaty bodies dancing ecstatically to repetitive and obsessive musical rhythms, the sense of freedom, the lightness and mindfulness, the freshness of being surrounded by urban greenery, the oxygen that we all need in order to breathe.

We invite you to be free like molecules in the air, expand yourself and your horizons like vapour and clouds and be the propellant of your own well-being.

HOUSE RULES
Bring proof of an up-to-date negative test (not older than 24h), vaccination or recovery. Masks must be worn all the time on the dance floor, in queuing situations and at the toilets. There will be no wardrobe/ dressing room. We want you and our other guests to feel comfortable, regardless of gender, religion, class, or sexual orientation. Please make sure there is consent before approaching any physical contact. Gegen is not a place for discrimination, sexual harassment, or violence. If you should observe or experience an inappropriate situation, please don’t hesitate to contact our yellow vest awareness team or any of the staff at the bars/coat check, guest service, or our door crew. We like to remind you of our zero-tolerance policy towards GHB/GBL. In order to protect each other’s privacy we discourage the use of image recording devices in all the area, we’ll have our own photographer. Those who do not comply with these rules will be invited to leave. Tickets won’t be available at the door and are not refundable. We strongly discourage attending the event without an advance ticket purchased previously online. Being in possession of an e-ticket does not guarantee entry, we reserve the right to deny the entrance, refunds will be processed when this happens. Please wear comfortable shoes for raving conditions.
