Justin Florian T M Zeisig feat. Dylan Kerr Abigail Toll Julia Reidy Maya Shenfeld
Between June and September, the Kultursommerfestival Berlin will once again bring a different event every day to exciting places all over Berlin. In every district, in every neighbourhood. And all summer long. Always free of charge. Always outdoors. Together with major cultural institutions, committed neighbourhood initiatives and independent actors from the local scene, the festival has developed a diverse cultural programme of readings, live concerts, theatre productions, performance art, dance and workshops.
As part of the festival, silent green presents the listening session Harmonic Horizons with five different artists:
6 pm: Justin
Justin (pronounced: jusnjjshh) blends ephemeral textures, tangible matter, and melodic micro-units to create improbable moods that evoke otherworldly realms beyond human comprehension. Within Justin’s sets, the focus lies on intensities and navigating through fluid or fragmented landscapes, leading to preconscious spaces.
6.30 pm: Florian T M Zeisig feat. Dylan Kerr
Florian T M Zeisig is an artist, producer, and musician. He holds an MA in Sound Studies from the Universität der Künste Berlin and the title of Meisterschüler in Fine Arts from HfBK Dresden, where he studied under Alva Noto from 2019 to 2021. As an artist and producer, Florian is interested in incorporating personal, interpersonal, and real-life experiences into his sonic frameworks. In his role as a music producer, Florian has collaborated with visionary artists such as Kelela, Loraine James, More Eaze, and John Daniel, among others.
7 pm: Abigail Toll
Abigail Toll is an experimental music artist based in Berlin. Her psychoacoustic soundscapes combine ambient and electroacoustic techniques that unfold as meditative experiences. Her artistic research focuses on data aesthetics and harmonic chaos as modes for critical thinking, often collaborating with musicians, artists, and writers. Matrices of Vision is the title of her upcoming debut release on Shelter Press, which premiered as an ensemble performance in 2022 at the Klosterruine in Berlin, organized by the KW Institute of Contemporary Art.
8 pm: Julia Reidy
Julia Reidy creates music for processed and acoustic instruments, predominantly guitars. Her recent recordings, including World in World (Black Truffle 2022), Vanish (Editions Mego 2020), and In Real Life (Black Truffle 2019), can be described as a series of non-traditional song forms that blend unstable harmonic territories, rhythmic elasticity, and abstract narratives with elongated, episodic structures. She has performed at numerous festivals worldwide.
9 pm: Maya Shenfeld
Maya Shenfeld is a composer based in Berlin who explores the intersection between the musical production methods of experimental, classical, and popular music. Her interests lie in the perception of time, embodied listening experiences, harmony, orchestration, and counterpoint. Shenfeld’s body of work encompasses electroacoustic compositions, site-specific sound installations, ensemble performances, music for film and television, as well as electronic solo sets. Since graduating from the Universität der Künste Berlin in 2016, Shenfeld has presented her work internationally.
