KONZERT: Two And A Half Girl [NL] / Angel Grove [D] @ Sonic Ballroom

Seit 2018 erst mischen Two And A Half Girl die Szene auf. Irgendwo zwischen Punkrock und Hardcore, mit einem fetten Anstrich Rock ’n Roll, schaffen sie es Schroffheit und Melodie zu vereinen. Sowohl lyrisch als auch musikalisch wandeln sie Frustration in positive Energie um. In ihren Texten halten die fünf Musikerinnen und Musiker aus Utrecht den Spiegel vor und befassen sich unter anderem mit mentaler Gesundheit, Drogenmissbrauch und der fehlenden Akzeptanz von Homosexualität – Themen, die dieser Tage aktueller denn je sind.

This five piece from Utrecht creates their own mix of emo, punk and rock full of raw vocals, sturdy guitars and infectious
melodies. The band is not afraid to give their opinion on personal and sensitive issues, such as discussing mental health,
alcohol and drug use among young people.
The band formed in 2018 and found its current line up in the fall of that year. In early 2019, the band released the EP ‚Prove
You Wrong‘. This was celebrated with a release show in Paradiso. The EP was supported by two lead singles: ‚Something
New‘ & ‚Strayed From The Path‘. The first mentioned song was featured on Jared Dines‘ YouTube channel with 2.9 million
subscribers, and the second gained a lot of attention on Spotfiy, giving the band their first song with over 100.000 streams.
This gave the band their first international publicity and attention.
In 2020, in the middle of the corona pandemic, the band released their EP ‚Disconnected‘. The EP received positive reviews
from the likes of ‚Guitarist‘ and ‚Musicmaker‘.

Angel Grove grüßen aus der Eifel im Dreieck zwischen Köln, Trier und Koblenz. Nach den ersten Jahren und auf der Suche nach der optimalen Besetzung wurde das Erste Album „Forever“ 2016 veröffentlicht. Mit der Ankunft von Tim an den Drums 2018 wurde die Band zu einem ernsthafteren Projekt und das Zweite Album „Judgement Day“ wurde veröffentlicht. Später kam Til an Gitarre und Gesang dazu. 2021 folgte die EP „History“ und 2022 das Dritte Album „Joey“ Die Band ist seinem schnellen ohrwurmartigen skate pop punk, inspiriert von Bands wie NOFX, Blink 182, Lagwagon, Anti Flag uvm. treu geblieben. Es wurden Show mit Bands wie Skassapunka, Chefdenker, March und Two And A Half Girl gespielt. Eine neue EP erscheint 2023. Der neue Song „Be There“ (Out 16. Mai 2023) ist auf allen gängigen Plattformen zu finden.
