🇬🇧 In this Masterclass Hybrasil will discuss creativity, the creative process and getting the most out of Ableton Live. The Hybrasil approach is live and intuitive. Learn more about his approach to writing and releasing music for labels such as Rekids, Awesome Soundwave and his own Hybrasil Music imprint. Hybrasil first learned his craft as a sound engineer at Temple Lane Studios where he worked with Neve & SSL consoles. NO SOUL – AI-Driven Rap for the NFT Metaverse
🇬🇧 Funk remixes are the origin of hip hop. Grammy-nominated producer Keyon Christ released the first AI-driven rap NFT titled „Black Skin Machine”. The song was engineered using Artificial Intelligence trained by the infamous AI music research group and Death Metal band DADABOTS. The AI for the track was trained on 8,000 discographies resulting in 12 hours of AI Funk which Keyon Christ went through to craft the final, very soulful NFT track which was sold within 24 hours. Keyon Christ has produced on Rihanna’s ANTI album as well as Kanye West’s grandiose Life of Pablo – but producing the first-ever AI-driven rap song, and successfully selling it as an NFT is a whole new musical universe. This conversation between Dadabots & Keyon Christ will be moderated by the hybrid transdisciplinary artist PortraitXO. Together, they will talk about how they released that 12 hours of AI generated Funk into the public domain – and what it can mean for musical creativity and artistic freedom in the future music ecosystem.

In der Präsentation werden die wichtigsten Ergebnisse vorgestellt. Die Studie ist ein Kooperationsprojekt zwischen der Initiative Musik gGmbH und dem Musikzentrum Hannover gGmbH.

Der dritte Raum: Grenzen in hybriden Live-Events verschwimmen durch immersive Technologien
🇩🇪 Die Magie eines Live-Events erwächst aus einer Vielzahl von Faktoren. Die Leidenschaft der Musikerinnen, wenn sie zusammenspielen und diese Leidenschaft auf das Publikum übertragen. Die Interaktion zwischen Publikum und Künstlerinnen, der große Aha-Moment eines spektakulären Anblicks. Wie kann man dieses Feeling noch mehr in ein hybrides Format einbinden? Und wie kann man die Grenzen der heutigen technischen Möglichkeiten ausreizen? Drei Fraunhofer-Institute, das Kesselhaus in der Kulturbrauerei, der Künstler „The Dark Tenor“ und das Filmorchester Babelsberg wollen diese Elemente in einem Live-Konzert mit Musikerinnen an verschiedenen Orten möglich machen: Ohne Verzögerung der Internetverbindung gemeinsam zu jammen, mit den Teilnehmerinnen zu interagieren und ein Publikum an entlegenen und außergewöhnlichen Orten so groß wie Planetarien zu erreichen.

Summer of Live 2021: Half-way Recovery Party?
DE Fünfzehn lange Monate haben wir darauf gewartet, die Tanzflächen und Clubs, Bühnen und Festivals zurückzuerobern. Unzählige Diskussionsrunden mit Politikern und Veranstaltern, Konzepte für Hygiene und Sicherheit, Presseerklärungen und Demonstrationen, abgesagte und verschobene Konzerte und Auftritte. Doch im Juni 2021 öffneten die Spielstätten endlich wieder ihre Pforten, die ersten Festivals wurden genehmigt, Publikum und Veranstalter planten schon mal vorsichtig die nächsten Auftritte. Aber wie war der Neustart? Wir fragen nach: wie habt ihr die Atmosphäre im Vergleich zu normalen Jahren erlebt und wie war die Reaktion eurer Gäste? Welche staatliche Zusammenarbeit könnt ihre euch für die Zukunft vorstellen? Welche Instrumente und Unterstützungsstrukturen haben euch geholfen und würden im nächsten Jahr helfen? Auf der Most Wanted: Music and Future of Festivals werden wir erfahren, wie das letzte halbe Jahr so lief und diskutieren wie die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Festivals, Clubs, Verwaltungen und Verbänden gelaufen ist.

Disability as Potential: Turning a Prosthesis into a Synth Controller
In this session, Bertolt Meyer will explain and demonstrate the „synLimb“, an adapter for bionic arm prosthesis that converts the prosthetic signals into CV signals for controlling modular synthesizers. Bertholt developed and built the synLimb together with KOMA Elektronik and Daniel Theiler. You’ll see how it illustrates the changing conceptualizations of disability, and the potential for future musical interfaces.

A Dialogue between Folds. Body and Fabric Interact, Becoming a Performative Tool.
🇬🇧 The project aims to bring out a new idea of performance based on curved shapes and dynamic folds. You’ll see wearable prototypes that capture movements of musicians by training a machine learning model on textile sensors. The dress becomes the medium and vice versa: movements of the performer are translated into sound and voice. After a workshop where you can get a closer look and explanations, performers will play a composition for vibraphone, cello, trumpet and textiles.

Technologies and Practices of Songwriting in Times of Posthumanism and Postdigitality
🇬🇧 Digital creator tools, machine learning and AI as well as the new dimensions of digital-live are fundamentally changing the process of music creation and production. On the one hand, the creative process is increasingly distributed between humans and non-humans, on the other hand, more and more competencies are uniting in the person of the artist. Alongside enthusiasm for innovation, skepticism and resistance are also apparent. This barcamp offers an exChange about current and future technologies and practices of songwriting. How are songs created today? What influence does technological Change have on the concept of the song? What are the new possibilities of music composition in times of posthumanism and postdigitality? The Barcamp is a cooperation between Most Wanted:Music and the joint research project MusCoDA – Musical Communities in the (Post)Digital Age (University of Applied Sciences Clara Hoffbauer Potsdam, University of Erfurt, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research). Songwriters can apply via registration link to take part (spaces are limited!).
