STATES OF EMERGENCY FINISSAGE ON MARCH 27th | LIVE AUDIOVISUAL PERFORMANCE BY HANNU KARJALAINEN
When we made the title for this exhibition, we had no idea just how sadly prophetic it would prove. The extra month of States of Emergency takes place amidst the outbreak of war closer to home than any of us could previously imagine. Our hearts go out to our friends and colleagues in Ukraine and Russia. We fervently hope that this latest state of emergency will somehow soon come to a peaceful resolution.

Event alert! You’re invited to join us on March 27th for our STATES of EMERGENCY finissage, featuring a live audiovisual performance by award-winning Finnish visual artist and musician Hannu Karjalainen.
Karjalainen will be performing a variation of his most recent audiovisual project LUXE, playing a live soundtrack to a special edit of its accompanying video work.
✧ Performance starts at 7 PM. Duration: 30-35′ ✧
The event marks the conclusion of our ongoing group exhibition STATES of EMERGENCY, bringing together 18 international artists of the MOMENTUM Collection, addressing the question of what is the role of the artist in a state of emergency.
The exhibition calls to artists as cultural first-responders, asking them to translate the felt experience of our time into visual languages, making sense of our precarious times through video art, performance, photography, installation and beyond.
