In this first Ep, Siwal transports the listener-dancer into a trippy jungle where misty deep techno reigns. The psychedelic rumblings of a chimerical panther resonate in this bewitching sonic vegetation.
The scenery is hallucinatory, the flora and fauna painted with dubby delays. We cross it with that sexy tension lodged in the pit of our stomachs, caught between the irrepressible desire to dance and the fear of forgetting ourselves, bewitched by its hallucinogenic perfumes.
Through this release, Abstrack expresses its nocturnal side, with the body/mind balance that is so dear to it. It sounds dub, techno, down tempo or faster, intense, in short, the feet are anchored, the bodies soar and the head escapes.
1 Morning Awakening : Ambient.
The Sound Of Bhageera opens with an incantatory soundscape. Synthesizers and bird sounds interact to form a soothing backdrop whose calm is regularly disturbed by mysterious synthetic events. In this cinematic piece, the camera is held by Siwal, who wanders us between the noise of reality, a jungle inhabited by lush fauna, and abstract animals whose electronic rustling evokes a parallel universe, like a window opening onto another level of consciousness.
Ep’s atmosphere is set : a perfect balance between light and shadow.
2 The hunt : Dub techno / Ambient.
The Hunt, the EP’s second track, plunges us into a frantic race. Through this Dub Techno track, Siwal builds progressive tension. The atmosphere becomes more and more oppressive, and the dancer-listener gets caught up in the dead-end hunt. Organic percussion and the kicks answer one another and come punctuate the track, without ever fully expressing itself. Distant melodies resonate, pads and percussions combine to amplify this hypnotic anticipation. A long introspection now takes place and let ourselves be charmed by this scene. The song is already over and we’re still in the jungle, blissful, almost ecstatic, still overwhelmed.
3 Atlas : Deep Techno / Tribal
With this third track, The Sound of Bagheera put on its club attire. Built on a ternary rhythm, Atlas is powerful. Guttural vocals and a synthetic didgeridoo meet a bewitching arpeggiator, supported by the passage of melancholic violins. Atlas is a call to transcendental dance. Our feets are firmly planted on the ground whereas our spirit wavers between light and shadow. A catalyst of emotions, Siwal never lets the dancer fall apart. The rhythm is steady but reassuring, like a gentle roughness.
4 Love attack : Downtempo / Dub / Tribal
Siwal ends this musical epic with Love Attack, a psychedelic down tempo ballad. It recaptures the tribal, hazy universe of the whole EP, but this time with a more self-assured dub accent. The 80s drums are backed by a heavy and digital bass, covered with mysterious lyrics and multiple hypnotic effects.
The atmosphere is sexy, our dance steps get heavy. A melodic break offers us, for a moment, a breath of fresh air, like a ray of light on a steaming early-morning dancefloor. However a few bars later, delays and synthetic effects envelop us in a groove as heavy as it is mesmerizing. Bass and drums transport us to a London cellar while a dub sound system is shaking.
