Two of Dubai’s leading figures in the electronic music scene team up on ‘Heaven’, the fourth release on Life In Colour, written and produced by Shahin Shantiaei and Mario Bazouri.
“Heaven” is a reflection of the way our thoughts and beliefs are shaped through the “six-inch screens” we wake up to — our phones. In a world where social media curates realities, dominates our attention and guides perceptions, the line ‘Is it A.I or you?’ captures a growing fear that soon, we won’t even recognise who—or what—we’re talking to. ‘Feels like the Heaven’s owned by the Satan,’ suggests that if heaven exists, it might already be in the wrong hands.
Featured in Made By Pete’s Essential Mix in 2024, ‚Heaven‘ stands out as a record that doesn’t follow trends or fit a genre glove, blending desert flavoured melodics that blur the lines between synthesis and acoustic instruments. Shahin’s memorable original vocal instantly stands out, perfectly manoeuvred around a patient, mature arrangement. On remix duties, Life In Colour label head Made By Pete pushes the record more towards the peak time dance floors whilst maintaining the magic of the original.
Spanish DJ Producer Mario Bazouri has forged a longstanding career in both his homeland and Dubai, playing at all the major venues and presenting a weekly show on Ibiza Global Radio UAE. His sound consists of infectious percussions, ethnic vibes and dark melodic synths, with releases on labels including Sony Music, Redolent, Exotic Refreshment & Sudam. Collaborator Shahin Shantiaei is a house DJ and producer with over 50 releases under his belt.
