„Inner Escape from Alcatraz“ is Elegie’s Alcatraz themed EP and the studio version of her upcoming live set recorded inside the prison, marking the first time such a music performance has ever been recorded there. The set will be launched on June 3 with 1001Tracklists, with the EP following on June 12 on Dark City Music, including a limited signed vinyl edition.
The three tracks are melodic and cinematic techno written for dancefloors, built around tension and release and the contrast between the hardness of Alcatraz and the moments of openness and freedom when you face the water and sky.
Each track is tied to the island from a different angle: „Jailer“ looks at who they were, „Ghosts of The Rock“ at who they became, and „Clint Westwood“ at their escape, whether inner or physical, as a direct nod to Clint Eastwood’s Escape from Alcatraz.
The release also reflects her wish to acknowledge the island’s history and symbolism, woven into both the sound and imagery of the video, inviting the listener on a journey through Alcatraz’s past and its echoes today.
