909 RIOT and Carl Shorts link for the first time on Mad WOW E.P., a new two-track release landing Friday, May 29, 2026 via Resilient Recordings. Built as a direct, no-frills statement of intent, the EP pairs the title cut “Mad WOW” with “Suit Yourself” for a compact release aimed squarely at peak-time impact. Rooted in the spirit of underground Hard Techno, the record channels raw energy and dancefloor function without leaning on gimmicks, delivering a fast, dark and forceful introduction to the duo’s creative chemistry.
Sonically, Mad WOW E.P. draws from old school Hard Techno rather than modern drop-led formulas, focusing instead on momentum, percussion and physical weight. The title track comes in stripped back and punishing, driven by marching drums, tense repetition and a relentless sense of forward motion that feels made for big systems and sweatbox rooms. “Suit Yourself” pushes into more twisted territory, threading sinister acid lines through the mix while keeping the groove unpredictable and tightly wound. Across both cuts, there is a sense of controlled aggression in the arrangements, with each element tuned for pressure rather than excess. It is hard, fast and heavy, but never blunt, with subtle groove and acid touches giving the EP added depth.
