Berlin Atonal x Unsound present The Infinite Now

The Infinite Now is the first formal collaboration between Berlin Atonal and Unsound: a singular 30-hour continuous musical program at Kraftwerk Berlin, preceded by three stand-alone prelude concerts across the week.

The thirty-hour continuous programme begins on Saturday 16 May and runs without interruption until Sunday 17 May. Among the over 20 participating artists are: legendary Japanese collective improvisation group Marginal Consort, Romeo Castellucci and Scott Gibbons premiering a new performance work To Carthage then I came, the singular Keiji Haino, Detroit techno visionary Terrence Dixon unveiling a new project entitled A Cosmic Display Of Beauty, Scottish amplified smallpipes player Brìghde Chaimbeul, Glasgow-based singer and songwriter Joanne Robertson, the new live show from Actress, a powerful new collaborative work from 2K88, Lauren Duffus, Rainy Miller & Bianca Scout, bassoonist and composer Joy Guidry, producer and engineer Marta Salogni presenting a new work, Polish composers Aleksandra Słyż & Teoniki Rożynek, New York ambient experimentalist 7038634357, Bristol-based composer Paul Jebanasam, American fingerstyle guitarist Shane Parish playing the music of Autechre, and Polish guitarist and musicologist Raphael Rogiński. Audiences are encouraged to sleep, rest, eat, listen, withdraw and pay attention. Further artists, installations and video works to be announced along with the full schedule over 30 hours.

The Infinite Now functions as both performance space and social environment. The venue will include dedicated areas for sleeping and rest, food and drink available throughout, and storage facilities. Participants are free to move between states of focused listening, peripheral awareness, and rest according to their own rhythms.

In the lead up to The Infinite Now, Berlin Atonal and Unsound host 3 stand-alone prelude concerts in the Kraftwerk main space. Prelude 1 sees Oneohtrix Point Never perform the Tranquilizer live show with Freeka Tet, with an opening set from Piotr Kurek. Prelude 2 invites Hania Rani’s alter-ego Chilling Bambino with support from Torus. Prelude 3 invites Sinfonietta Cracovia to play Gavin Bryars‘ The Sinking of the Titanic and Jesus‘ Blood Never Failed Me Yet, alongside a new work by Aleksandra Słyż.

Ticket holders for the 30-hour The Infinite Now program (both early bird and general passes) receive €10 off each of the three Prelude Concerts. After purchasing the 30-hour pass, holders will receive an email within one week containing personalised links to book discounted prelude tickets. The discount applies individually to each concert and can be used for one, two or all three. For more information write to tickets@berlin-atonal.com
