Mysterious Works return with a superb VA following the success of EP’s from Krewcial & Jank earlier this year. The imprints attention to high-quality basement cuts is ever prominent, with a number of underground kingpins bringing the artistic vision throughout the EP.
Kicking off proceedings is underground heavyweight, Chicago Damn, who’s ‘Uncle Bob’ provides an exquisite, low slung, downtempo slab of boogie fusion. Osaka’s Kousuke Koga (aka Jank) makes his second appearance on the label, this time teaming up with Preston’s finest Simba for a deep, brooding, soul-laden number, mysteriously entitled NLA. On the flip side, label co-owner Jonna steps up the intensity with a no-nonsense, loop-laden workout while fellow co-owner Darran P provide’s an infectious rework of a lesser known 80s classic! Keeping the momentum going is Iceland’s Intr0beatz who’s track ‘Start To Make Sense’ is a huge club friendly cut already a favorite with the like’s of BBC Radio 1’s Artwork.
