Plaster’s highly anticipated fifth full-length studio album, „Obscura“, is finally here and it’s a mind-blowing masterpiece! Written between 2019 and 2022, this album is the result of Gianclaudio Hashem Moniri’s deep research in both composition and sound design.

The album consists of fifteen tracks that are split into two parts: Alpha: Tracks 01-08 and Omega: Tracks 09-15. According to Gianclaudio, the concept of the compositions is based on the feminine world, exploring its darkest and brightest sides, its power, and delicacy. The album also pays tribute to the death of Mahsa Amini in Iran and the following Iranian protests. The tracks are filled with elements of protest messages, words of hope, stories of femicide, fragments, and tributes of the imaginary feminine world of Gianclaudio.

The sound of „Obscura“ is clearly a step forward into Plaster’s production. The album incorporates a lot of new inputs, such as poetry, distorted guitars, and vocals used as the main instrument. However, it also brings back memories of Plaster’s early works. The tracks are filled with passion and cohesion, making it an album that is not meant for fast listening or streaming skipping.

„Obscura“ will be released digitally by Textvra, distributed by EPM, and via limited printed canvas. Only 22 copies will be released in memory of the age of Mahsa Amini.

The music is written and produced by Gianclaudio Hashem Moniri, with Valeria Svizzeri providing vocals on tracks „Nec Spe, Nec Metu“ and „Numera Stellas“. The poetry on „Interfectōr“ is written by Gianclaudio Hashem Moniri and interpreted by Gianfranco Miranda and Maria Giulia Ciucci. The cover design is by Hexagonal AI.

„Obscura“ is a must-listen for fans of Cluster Lizard, Kotra, and electronic music enthusiasts alike. With its powerful concept and impeccable sound design, it is sure to make a mark in the music industry. Don’t miss out on this stunning release!
