CHEVEU (FR / Born Bad Records)

With their mind-blowing live show they got invited to play WFMU stage at SXSW, Pop Montreal, Rock en Seine, Great Escape, Villette Sonique, Le Guess Who?, Reeperbahn, Eurosonic and toured alongside Animal Collective, King Khan, Quintron, Glass Candy and many others. Proto-Punk surely and arty may be, think Cabaret Voltaire or Suicide, Cheveu new tracks won’t get out of your heads that easily. They are coming back to Berlin with a new album Bum to be released on February 4th on Born Bad Records.

CLASSIC MUSCLE (Berlin, Späti Palace)

Finding themselves stuck in a summer thunderstorm, luckily close to one of their rehearsal rooms, Classic Muscle formed out of a simple jam-session, shirts off, dripping wet, späti beers all round, the songs were written in a few hours and recorded in one afternoon, live, raw, irresistible. Take a pick of what influences you want to tag them with but with a classic C86-styled vocal and messy yet melodic guitars backed with tight drums and bass, these boys tick all the right boxes. Classic Muscle are one to watch.
