Hoopurbia is an Urban Hula Hoop Festival happening June 24-29th in Berlin. Our carefully selected team of Teachers & Artists will guide the participants through 6-days of workshops, video-shoots, music & multi-disciplinary collaboration in the fields of contemporary dance, choreography & performance at PLATOON KUNSTHALLE Berlin.
Opening day will be on Tuesday June 24th, and the festival runs through to Sunday June 29th. Each day begins with Yoga & Contemporary Dance Class by our amazing instructors Phoebe Kiddo & Kianí DEL Valle. Each afternoon will be filled with 2X 2-HR blocks of Intensive Hoop Workshops from Malcolm Stuart, Tiana Zoumer, Beka Hoop, Sara Kunz Circus, Lisa Looping, and Kristin Lahoop. There are 16 Hoop Workshops in total so you are sure to be Hoop Educated by the end, whether you are just learning to Hoop or a Pro-Hooper. Evenings will be filled with performance viewings, video shoots, flash mobs, and our very own performance show case, and the first International Hula Hoop Contest on Saturday June 28th! There are plenty of ways to get involved in the festival. As a contributing artist, a festival participant, a drop-in student to one of the hoop workshops, performance spectator, or a hula hoop contestant in the contest. Hoopurbia has something for everyone.
Tickets officially go on sale Tuesday April 22nd at 5PM.
