Hi Augusto! Your new EP „Thinner“ has recently been released. What was the main inspiration behind this project?

Chaos gave rise to “Thinner” and “Hybris”.

I had just returned to Rome after spending the winter in Southeast Asia. I hadn’t produced much music during my stay in Asia; in fact, I had only produced my previous EP, “Avadavat.” Therefore, I was eager to create new material but didn’t have much time to spend in the studio at that moment. So, these two tracks were born from obsessive-compulsive studio sessions where I tried to create the most danceable tracks possible.

There’s a noticeable evolution in the sound of „Thinner“ compared to your previous work. What new elements did you explore in this project, and why?

I believe the techno music audience constantly needs to be surprised with new sounds, and the sound of the main leads is very important to me. Therefore, my focus is always on the main sounds and their evolution, but I am a perfectionist and pay attention to the small details, like secondary drums, effects, etc. Everytime I start a new project I try to experiment with new sounds. It’s one of the most satisfying things for me.

As a producer and the label boss of BrokenHearted, how do you manage the creative process and collaboration between the artists on your label?

In the early releases of BrokenHearted, I managed to bring together different artists from various countries. It was a very interesting project and I am very pleased with the final result, but it is a very demanding work and, to be done well, it requires time and effort. I hope to find the time for another „Antologia“ soon.

What were the main challenges you faced while producing „Thinner,“ and how did you overcome them?

I believe that for every artist, the main challenge is to stay original, stray true, create something new and different from others, and surprise not only his audience but also himself.

Can you tell us about any specific track from the EP „Thinner“ that holds particular significance for you?

It’s a short EP with only two tracks, and neither one is more important or better than the other. Initially, I wanted to make two independent releases (as it is trendy lately), but in the end – to offer a more complete project – I decided to release them as a unique EP.

Both tracks represent a moment of transition for me, and I believe they signify the beginning of something new, a small change in my production.

The electronic music scene in Italy is quite dynamic. How do you see the evolution of electronic music in our country, and how does BrokenHearted fit into this context?

BrokenHearted will always fit into my world, independently from the situation of the music scene in Italy or anywhere else in the world. I don’t feel like I belong to any scene or country in particular. Especially in the last ten years I belong to the world and I bring my world with me anywhere I go, taking with me my art.

Do you have any future plans or upcoming projects that you can share with us? Will there be a tour or any special events to support the release of „Thinner“?

Fortunately, in recent months, I’ve been able to find the focus and I produced several new projects. Music that I like and that I will definitely release. There will be more releases in the coming months, starting after the summer.
