Nguyen Transitory consists of Nguyen Baly and Tara Transitory. They work in the border area of sound, performance and installation mainly with modular synthesizers and analog tapes. In doing so, they seek to approach sound, synthesis, noise, rhythm, and performative aspects less from a colonial perspective – instead, they explore the connection of sound frequencies, the physicality of sound production, and the resulting vibrations with cognitive memories, stored emotions, and catharsis. At KONTRAKLANG they present an electronic duo set.
The Liz is a power trio. The three Berliners swim the currents of experimental, improv, electronic and text-ridden musics, coupling it all with multi-media forays into video, puppetry, and performance, among other things. They have been playing together since 2014 as an improvising trio as well as a compositional team. Recent works include “No Comet” (2021), “Dipper” (2019) and “Book of Birds” (2016).
