Sonson @ Pimpernel

The Munich-based artist, formerly known as „Mike Trend,“ released his first solo album on the label „Amazing Music“ in 2014. In 2017, his second album titled „Seminar“ was released in collaboration with his friend and mentor Basti Grub on Aprapta Music. There were further releases on renowned labels such as Desolat, Compost Records, Moan, Karton, Baile Musik, and more before Michael embarked on new musical paths in 2018. With the project „Sonson,“ he presents a more diverse musical direction. Initially working together with Basti Grub, Sonson released his first productions on „Barré Music“ and gained recognition for his edits of artists like Depeche Mode, Billie Eilish, Massive Attack, and Everything But The Girl.
Since 2023, Basti and Michael have taken separate paths, at least in terms of their names. While Basti advances his solo project, Michael continues as a resident DJ under the name Sonson at the legendary Munich club Pimpernel. But don’t worry, their collaboration is far from over! In addition to various solo productions by Sonson, the next edit by Basti Grub & Sonson is already in the pipeline.
