How do you handle music requests?

We think that every music request is important for us, so we handle with respect and curiosity every request. Is important for us to find right inspiration in every request.

What do you do when equipment goes on strike?

We hope that every gig goes ok. We have some troubles with our equipment only two times but we feel good and we start with an improvisation that Connect us with other people.

What are your musical influences from childhood?

We start to listen music with Led Zeppelin, Depeche Mode and classical music composers. During childhood we use first Orff’s instruments.

Is it even possible to argue about musical tastes?

I think that good music is something vibes with your feelings. When we compose our songs we wanna be honest and real. Good music is what you feel close to you.

Which track would run when you moved into your boxing match?

We love Apparat, Depeche Mode, Nils Frahm, Trentemoller and Sigur Ros. If we choose a recent track we love Damage Done by Moderat for its emotional world.

What was the worst job you ever had?

We think that work is a good oppportunity to grow up and learn something. Some works are better for us, probably the worst work is when we work in a place where we feel outsider.

Describes your sound to someone who has never heard it before.

Our sound is a mix of ambient, deep and electronica. Some vibes from Dub and neo classical composers. We try to be ourselves so we hope that people recognize our sound and visuals.

Do you have any good tour stories from clubs or festivals?

We play in some festivals and clubs. At Ade16 we walk a Lot and find good inspiration in Amsterdam in these days. Our first time in Berlin at Madame Claude was great ‘cause we find an emotive connection with curious people, there is an open mind approach to music, without a close genre. In our live you can find a Lot of different vibes.

What would you do if you weren’t a musician?

We are also teatchers and social managers. We love what we do and we try to do the best.

Which style of music should have the most followers? And why?

In Italy you can find a lot of followers in media for popular commercial music, but live experience is different. We love play live and do live performances with dancers and performers. We love do something that rests, not only a commercial track that listen and passes by without feelings. We think that Radios or spotify move people but give a “one night” track, we prefer work with love.

What is the most important musical equipment invention of all time – and why?

The most important musical equipment is synthesizers, ‘cause you can do a lot of different Sounds with the same instrument and open your musical view. We compose everything with vintage analog synths, they are without time, out of trend.

What would you advise to become a professional?

We think that everything you do is important for your professional grow. If you are focused on your way and be yourself honestly, probably you can became a professionist in what you do. Copy and follow music trend is not a good way to became professionist.

 

MOHABITAT

Mohabitat is a duo of electronic performances and contemporary art installations. Their performances feature original and manipulated contents, focused around video-projection and analog synthesizers. The duo tries to redefine a unique and immersive experience where sound and video are combining to create a common language. Based on electronic music influenced by post-rock echoes, dub techno drum patterns and cinematic influences, the duo mixes different visual resources going from geometric lines and archive footage to real shooting sequences creating their own universe: unstructured, melodic and involving. Duality on stage for an audio/video performance between sound and lights. The deep and melodic electronica is mixed with visuals for an exclusive exerience, every time different.
