Wie bist du dazu gekommen, das zu tun, was du tust? Wann kam die erste Idee, das Label zu kreieren? How did you come to do what you do? When did the first idea of creating the label came out?
Die Idee zu unserem Label kam uns 2020, als wir für uns selbst eine Plattform schaffen wollten, um Musik zu veröffentlichen. Kurze Zeit später wurden auch Freunde und Bekannte darauf aufmerksam. Sie schickten Demos und wollten auf unserem Label releasen – wow! Als wir das erste Mal in den Beatport-Charts landeten, erhielten wir Demos aus aller Welt. Damit war Reluxe Records geboren.
The idea for our label came to us in 2020 when we wanted to create a platform for ourselves to release music. A short time later, friends and acquaintances also became aware of it. They sent demos and wanted to release on our label – wow! When we landed in the Beatport charts for the first time, we received demos from all over the world. Reluxe Records was born.
Nenn ein paar Statistiken, wann das Label erstellt wurde, wie viele Releases, wie viele Vinyls und wie viele Pakete/Pakete wurden versendet? Some statistics, since the label was created , how many releases, how many vinyls and how many packages/parcels have you made/send?
Wie oben schon erwähnt, erstellten wir das Label im Jahr 2020. Wir streben jetzt das 50. Releasean, was am 23. Juni erscheinen soll. Derzeit fokussieren wir uns ausschließlich auf digitale Releases. In Zukunft möchten wir aber auch gerne Vinyls veröffentlichen.
As mentioned above, we created the label in 2020. We are now aiming for the 50th release, which is scheduled for the 23th of June. At the moment, we are focusing exclusively on digital releases. In the future, however, we would also like to release vinyls.
Aus welchem Land kommen die meisten Käufer? From which country do most of your buyers come from?
Die meisten Käufer kommen aus den USA, England und Deutschland.

Auf welche Veröffentlichung bist du am meisten stolz? What is the release of which you are most proud of?
Ehrlich gesagt sind wir auf das 50. Release, das wir am 23. Juni veröffentlichen werden, besonders stolz. Es ist zusammen mit einer Person entstanden, die uns persönlich viel bedeutet. Die Person gilt für uns nicht nur als musikalischer Input und große Inspiration, sie ist auch unser
Mentor.
To be honest, we are particularly proud of the 50th release, which we will release on the 23th of June. It was created together with a person who means a lot to us personally. This person is not only our musical input and great inspiration, he is also our mentor.
Kannst du beschreiben, was ein typischer Büroalltag für dich bedeutet? Can you describe to us what a typical day at the office means to you?
Ein typischer Büroalltag sieht bei uns wie folgt aus: Als erstes checken wir unsere E-Mails. Dann legen wir immer viel Wert auf die Pflege unserer Social Media Accounts. Später bereiten wir Releases vor, erstellen Release-Cover und verteilen Aufgaben an unsere Texterin. Weiter hören wir uns Musik an, halten Ausschau nach Playlistkuratoren, Partnern und Netzwerken.
A typical day in the office for us looks like this: First, we check our emails. Then we always put a lot of emphasis on maintaining our social media accounts. Later, we prepare releases, create release covers and assign tasks to our lyricist. Then we listen to music, keep an eye out for playlist curators, partners and networks.
Wer macht mit? Produzierst du selbst auch oder bist DJ? Who’s in your Team? Are you a Music Producer or DJ?
Ich würde meine Funktion als DJ, Produzent und Label Manager bezeichnen. Die meisten Künstler auf unserem Label sind tatsächlich auch DJs.
I would describe my function as DJ, producer and label manager. Most of the artists on our label are actually also DJs
Welche Vertriebswege nutzt du? Which distribution channels do you use?
Wir nutzen primär das Online-Marketing und betreiben regelmäßig Label-Partys. Übrigens – die nächste ist am 05. Mai in der Tausendbar in Köln!
We primarily use online marketing and regularly run label parties. By the way – the next one is on the 5th of May at Tausendbar in Cologne!
Wie stark nutzt du youtube und was hat es gebracht? Did you use youtube and how strong/weak the impact?
Alle unsere Release erscheinen bei YouTube – einige davon mit Musikvideo und andere mit animierten Artworks. Grundsätzlich können wir aber festhalten: YouTube ist eine unverzichtbare Plattform für unser Label!
All of our releases appear on YouTube – some of them with music videos and others with animated artwork. Basically, however, we can say that YouTube is an indispensable platform for our label!
Schon mal bei klickzahlen auf soundcloud nachgeholfen? Have you ever helped yourself with buying clicks & plays on soundcloud?
Ganz klares „Nein“! Wir bauen unsere Reichweite organisch auf und arbeiten aktiv daran. Daneben senden wir Musik an Kuratoren, Artists und Influencer. Wir freuen uns natürlich sehr darüber, wenn diese unsere Releases teilen und uns dabei helfen zu wachsen. Klickzahlen sind Indikatoren dafür, wie gut der Song ankommt – wir brauchen also keine Zahlen verfälschen.
A very clear „no“! We build our reach organically and actively work on it. We also send music to curators, artists and influencers. We are of course very happy when they share our releases and help us grow. Click numbers are indicators of how well the song is received – so we don’t need to falsify numbers.
Wo findest du junge hungrige und ambitionierte artists? Where do you find hungry and ambitious artists?
Junge Artists finde ich in der Regel auf Label Partys, über (Online-)Netzwerke und/oder durch Empfehlungen.
I usually find young artists at label parties, via (online) networks and/or through recommendations.
Welche Auswirkungen hat Streaming mit Spotify auf die wirtschaftliche Lage eines Indie-Labels? What impact does streaming with spotify have on the economic situation of an indie label?
Sehr hohe Auswirkungen! Neben Beatport ist Spotify unsere größte Einnahmequelle. Der Einfluss dieser Plattform ist an sich sehr groß. Jedoch verhältnismäßig klein im Vergleich zu kommerzieller Musik, da wir mit unserem Underground Techhouse eine Nische bedienen. Und wie wir alle
wissen, haben es Songs mit einer Länge von über drei Minuten eher schwierig auf Spotify.
Very high impact! Next to Beatport, Spotify is our biggest source of income. The influence of this platform is very big in itself. However, it is relatively small compared to commercial music, because we serve a niche with our underground techhouse. And as we all know, songs with a length of more than three minutes have a rather difficult time on Spotify.
Wenn du nach neuer Musik suchst, was sind Schlüsselelemente und Faktoren, nach denen du suchst, abgesehen davon, dass es offensichtlich ein großartiger Track ist? When you look for new music to sign what are some key elements and factors you are looking for, aside from it being a great track obviously?
Abgesehen davon, dass der Sound zu unserem Label passt, sind uns folgende Faktoren wichtig: Der Künstler und seine Persönlichkeit und seine Geschichte, die hinter ihm steckt. Wir liegen sehr viel Wert auf den engen Kontakt zu unseren Artists.
Apart from the fact that the sound fits our label, the following factors are important to us: the artist and his personality and the story behind him. We place a lot of value on close contact with our artists.
Wie würdest du den Stil und die Vision des Labels beschreiben? How would you describe the style and vision of your Label?
Den Stil unseres Labels würde ich als groovigen Techhouse bezeichnen, der zwischendurch freaky und perkussiv ist. Wir mögen aber auch deepe und darke Sounds. Unsere Vision ist es, Menschen zu begeistern und die Szene zu bereichern.
I would describe the style of our label as groovy tech house, which is freaky and percussive in between. But we also like deep and dark sounds. Our vision is to inspire people and enrich the scene.
Welche Seiten oder Apps benutzt du, um neue Tracks anzuhören/zu finden? What are some sites or apps that you use to listen/ find new tracks?
Wir nutzen SubmitHub, Soundcloud und Instagram. Viele Demos erhalten wir aber auch per EMail.
