Congratulations on releasing ‘Back To The Roots’. Talk us through the release…

Where did you grow up, and how did your environment shape your relationship with music?

I was born in Vienna, Austria and I also live there. My Connection to music started very early, when I was 6 years old. My first CD I bought was Gorillaz „Clint Eastwood“, followed by Robbie Williams feat. Nicole Kidman „Something Stupid“. My first Rough with Electronic Dance music was at the ice skating park, with Gigi D‘Agostino „Lamour toujours“. When I first heard that song, I immediately fell in love with it. When I was Order, around 10 years old, I started watching MTV & Viva with my Sister and we were total Music Junkies. I loved to listen to Eminem and my room was full of posters from him. I still love him, but some of his lyrics don’t match with political orientation now. When I was 13 I met my old best friend at a Skate Park. We were both Emos, so we listened to Rock, Emo, Heavy Metal and the Hard stuff. When I was 15, my best friend started listening to Drum & Bass and started Djing. When I first heard Drum & Bass, I instantly loved it and I also wanted to DJ. We went out to clubs every weekend to all the good Drum & Bass parties we Had in Vienna. One big Name After the other one came to Vienna and Played. That time was amazing. I also started to like House & Techno, especially Deep House. When I was 16 I Had my First Gig in a Club in Vienna and thought Yeah thats What I wanna do. I continued DJing different styles and started producing music when I was 17. I started with Hip Hop, Trip Hop, Drum&Bass and House Music. I didn’t produce so much between when I was 17 & 21, just learning things and had no gear, just my laptop, Not using Plugins, but samples I had. When I was 21, I had my first apartment and bought some gear, so I could finally start producing properly. It needed one to have some simple, but cool sounding House Tracks, Mainly Lofi House. In 2016 I Had my first official release. In this year I also started my own Label Dream Raw Recordings. My skills improved over the years and I released more and more stuff. My Label started to grow and I Realized: Hey that is What makes me happy and I want to continue Doing that.

What’s the first memory you have of making music?

With samples, I made some really good Chilling Trip Hop Music, But when I First started designing my own Sounds and playing with the Midi Keyboard, or Synthesizer I knew I gotta Create my own Sound Design.

When you think back to your earliest projects, what’s something you would do differently now?

Audio Engineering steps, like doing a low cut on 30Hz on the Master, a Limiter with -1dB True Peak, using a Mono Maker Till 200Hz, using a MSW2 to put everything under 200Hz to the Mid and the Rest to the Side. And as I mentioned before, Creating my own Sounds.

What’s the scene like in your city?

We Had a very big Drum & Bass scene back in the 2000s and early 2010s, in the 2010s the House scene started to get more interesting for me and we really had some big parties, with Kerri Chandler for example. When lofi House started to become popular we also had Mall Grab, Palms Trax and Ross from Friends for example. The House scene got a little quiet in my opinion before Corona and was weaker After the pandemic, than before. But a few years later it started to become stronger again and you can really go out in Vienna every week to a club and listen to good electronic music. We have several clubs, which are good and have a nice soundsystem. My Favorites Are: Sass Club, Pratersauna, Flex, Fluc and O Club.

Can you share some insight into your creative process when producing music? Do you have any particular rituals or methods that help you stay inspired?‍

What is very important for me to stay inspired is listening to a lot of music of the styles I produce or wanna produce. I get inspired by a lot of music. Right now I am currently working on Melodic House and Afro House, Cause I love the Sound of it. Anjunadeep is my main influence right now.

When you are not busy with music, what might we find you doing?

Walking my dog, going into a restaurant, hanging out with friends and family, swimming.

Finally, what do you have coming up in the next few months? Feel free to mention anything!

So I am currently trying to make a Melodic House EP/Album trying to get it on a Label from Anjuna, that’s my Dream and Goal for the Future. I also started a new project with a friend of mine, called TRÄUMER, producing a really good Melodic Afro House, when we finally finished the Album it will be released on my Label Dream Raw Recordings. You Can already Check out a few of Those Afro House Tracks on our SoundCloud: www.soundcloud.com/traeumerofficial , or just Type im TRÄUMER – Brothers, then you‘ll find us. I am also in contact with a label from Berlin, for an EP, but this might take more than a few months to be released. There will also be a track of mine on a compilation from Schoenbrunner Perlen, but there is no release date for it yet. The only release, which is definitely coming out in the next few months is my „Back to the roots EP“ on Fortunea Records on 01.08.2025.
