As part of Tag der Clubkultur 2025, THE CODE will be hosting Bringmann & Kopetzki – 31 Years Illustrating the Techno Scene.

VERNISSAGE

When: Friday, October 3rd, 19:00–22:00

Where: THE CODE, Köpenicker Str. 79, 10179 Berlin

To launch the event, Bringmann & Kopetzki will present their works in person. There will be drinks, sets by DJs Jake The Rapper, DOMPE and more – the perfect pre-drink for FOUR PLAY at KitKatClub.

Since 1994, this cult comedy duo has been documenting, celebrating, judging – and bringing to rights – the rave and techno scene. From their beginnings in Kassel – where they co-founded the (in)famous Aufschwung Ost / Stammheim club – before later diving into the Berlin underground, they’ve chronicled powder highs, afterhours lows, DJs, queues, bouncers and three-day hangovers.

Their eye is keen, their satire sharp, their drug tolerance high, and their social commentary always on-point. They’re the original club meme lords, the pioneers of techno humour. Their comic strips show club life at its dirtiest, most depraved, depressing and delightful. They show that club life is not only something to love, it’s also something to laugh at.

There will be prints of their comedy strips and cartoons, illustrated flyers for parties long gone, as well as never-before-seen fetish-inspired artworks made just for us. A limited run of illustrated hand fans and art prints will be available.

SEE YOU THERE.

All events are free and open to the public. Come along. Bring your crew. Laugh, cry, cringe and reminisce. Let’s celebrate 31 years of Bringmann & Kopetzki together.
