Soul Quest Records opens 2026 with a powerful and heartfelt release ‘Simple Love EP’ which is the second solo EP from producer, DJ, and label co-founder Slxm Sol. Blending deep, soulful house textures with London-rooted broken beat, the EP captures the emotional depth and groove-focused production that define the Soul Quest sound.
At the centre of the project is the title track “Simple Love”, a rich and uplifting deep house cut featuring both Laville and BB James on vocals who work in perfect harmony. Their combination is magnetic: Laville brings his bold, storytelling soul delivery (following his chart-topping success ‘Elevation’ with 2fox). While BB James provides her unmistakable warmth, honesty and neo-soul finesse. For BB James, Simple Love marks her third release with Soul Quest Records, following collaborations with Real Love Seeker and 2fox & Liam Bailey on So Long. Her solo EP is also set to arrive later in 2026 on the label.
The EP expands further with “Waiting 4 You”, a moody, jazz-tinged broken-beat number soaked in London swagger, and “Smiles,” a deeper bruk-driven excursion showcasing Slxm Sol’s jazz-infused chords, rhythmic fluidity and inventive sampling.
Soul Quest are also very proud to introduce Kai Alcé on their ever growing roster who provides a Trumpet Dub of Simple Love into proceeds. As one of the most consistent and respected remixers in deep and soulful house, Kai Alcé brings classic NDATL elegance melding jazz, soul and dancefloor tradition into a trumpet-led, deeply atmospheric reimagining of the original. His contribution gives the EP an additional layer of timelessness and global dancefloor appeal.
Slxm Sol’s profile has risen rapidly since his breakout SQR006 EP received support from Mixmag, DJ Mag and more. As co-founder of Soul Quest Records, alongside Max Sinal and Leon Sweeney, he continues to shape a space for thoughtful, groove-driven, emotionally resonant electronic music.
