Artist Bio:
tildatoonz (she/her) is a Brighton-based singer-songwriter, producer, and DJ.
tildatoonz started as a singer/songwriter and producer, becoming a DJ in 2021. In Bristol, she discovered the exhilarating freedom of DJing. It was a refreshing break from the precision of her classical training, allowing her to live in the moment and let creativity flow.
tildatoonz draws inspiration from a diverse array of artists like Nia Archives, Roni Size, Minor Science, Lianne La Havas, Scott Matthews, and Felivand. A standout moment was at a no_one party in Bristol, where DJ Rishi’s carefree, genre-bending set inspired her to inject that same level of fun into her own performances.
A regular of Houghton Festival, the festival holds a special place in her heart with its incredible energy and stellar lineups. She also loves the underground club scene, with memorable sets at The Crown and The Island in Bristol.
tildatoonz’s creative process is fluid. Experimenting with chords, synths, drums, and bass lines. Her favourite piece of kit – the piano, is where much of her creativity originates. She loves using samples, chopping and editing them to create entirely new sounds.
From her early days of soft folk, jazz, and R&B, tildatoonz has evolved into a confident producer of drum & bass. A significant milestone was overcoming the notion that music production was a male-dominated field. Meeting other female artists and producers empowered her to fully embrace her unique style, blending d&b, jungle, jazz, garage, soul, and indie elements.
C’est La Vie marks release number three on Dealt With Records. It follows ‘Little Bit Of Sunshine’, which captured that uplifting moment when the sun breaks through after heavy rain — carefree, warm and full of summer feeling — and the feel-good party cut ‘Red Wine Music’. A smooth, soulful drum & bass track, Red Wine Music blends jazzy textures, sultry keys and punchy horns with energetic bass and drums, delivering a late-night mood that’s both dancefloor-ready and easy on the soul.
