Loner Tennis Club’s Modern Rituals plays like a full night compressed into six scenes, not just the club as a room, but night time as a shifting state. It opens with “Energy (feat. Duppy)”, a straight initiation rite: breaks and UKG snap into place while Duppy’s vocal feels like the hand on your shoulder pulling you into the room. “Overnight Shift” keeps the body at the centre, all forward motion and rolling drums. City lights, passing cars, movement as instinct.
From there, the EP slips into something deeper. Dance becomes ritual, weaving club drive with a hypnotic pull, anchored by field recordings from Sri Lanka that make the whole thing feel both ancient and right-now.
The last stretch is about release and reflection, tracks resets the air with healing UK house grooves that run on future-garage melancholy. like scanning an emotional desktop full of half-closed windows; and the record closes with a vertical lift, vibes uplifted, a little bittersweet, and quietly weightless.
