With Klang:Raum:Club, we bring classical instruments to places where you wouldn’t expect to find them: in clubs. No electronics, no effects – just pure sound in direct dialogue with the space, the audience, and the atmosphere.

Apollonio Maiello is an Italian-German composer known for his incredible musical versatility. He is always innovative, yet deeply rooted in tradition. His music is performed at major festivals and concert halls around the world. Many famous ensembles and orchestras have asked him to compose for them, and he has even collaborated with Grammy-nominated singer Becca Stevens. Maiello has won many awards, including the 2020 Oginski Composition Prize and several important jazz awards.
Apollonio has invited a very special guest for this evening: Marla Hansen, a talented American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer based in Berlin. As the violist of the New York string quartet Osso, she has collaborated with artists such as Sufjan Stevens and The National. Her solo albums, Dust (2020) and Salt (2024), have been critically acclaimed—Salt even received five stars from Musik Express and was played on BBC6 and Radio Eins. Her music is an artful blend of electronic and acoustic song worlds that is personal, powerful, and unique.
